Psycho-oncology

Psycho-oncology is the study of how behavior, social, ethical and psychological components of an individual are impacted by being diagnosed with cancer, being treated for it, and surviving their diagnosis. Psycho-oncology within a hospital setting is multidisciplinary by establishing communication between doctors, case managers, therapist, and support staff involved in a patient’s treatment.

As a cancer patient during a time in the United States where there was little attention paid to the psychological impact from cancer, Josh has made this one of his major focuses as a therapist. Whether it is the time in a patient’s life where they are newly diagnosed, going through treatments, or reintegrating back into life after surviving cancer, Josh is here to serve individuals and their families during each stage of this journey.
